Stuffed Animal Planet and PANSI and friends

One of the coolest blogs ever is Stuffed Animal Planet. This is a crazy world where stuffed animals and action figures rule over all and have amazing adventures. Sounds like a pretty good world, if you ask me! They have recently been performing the exciting adventure, Gone With the Captists. They are on hiatus for the holidays and will resume in January. Don't miss it!
Mrs. Weirdso, Headmistress over Stuffed Animal Planet, sent some wonderful friends to me last year in the form of PANSI, Aubvey, Brittney and Emrald. They lived in Hobbeyswood for a long time and had many wonderful adventures. I'm not sure if Hobbeyswood was destroyed by General Goonior and the Orks or what happened to it. But all the Barbies from Naked Gymnastics for Jesus had to clear out and were scattered to the four winds. I was fortunate enough to have the four mentioned above come to the Nether World to live with me. However, I have a terrible problem right now. I am not wealthy enough to give superstar PANSI all the things she demands. I feel terrible about this, mostly because she won't shut up and let me write. But you can help. If you go to PANSI'S blog and leave a present under the tree at the bottom of the page, it may placate her somewhat. Thank you so much!

Bock Imagery

This is a start-up website for a photography business. The owner is a friend of a friend. He takes nice pictures of people. I enjoy photography and tried to get into it, though I preferred taking pictures of plants. The main reason may be because you don't have to pose them. Plants have far less potential than people to look silly. The problem is, I sucked. No eye for lighting and things like that.
As my alter ego The Cheese Mistress, I take pictures of PANSI and her friends. They are fun to work with although they can be sooo demanding!

Dagon Bytes

Check out the newly re-VAMPED "Dagon Bytes" site. This site has been invauable to me when I need to reference work by Poe or Lovecraft. It saves me having to take the time to flip through my books to find what I need. It contains numerous short stories by Lovecraft and Poe as well as other classic works of fiction. Vampire fiction is a specialty.
My descriptions can't do Dagon Bytes justice. You really have to see it for yourself. If you're into classic horror, weird tales and vampires, you won't be disappointed.

The Artwork of F. Magdalene

When you purchase artwork from F. Magdalene's collection, not only will you own a truly unique creation but you will be helping a person with handicaps support themselves. The artist copes with dissociative identity disorder and lupus. She does remarkably well at dealing with these handicaps, but like many people with disabilities, her income level creates yet another challenge in her life.
When you purchase work from independent artists, you support the arts. When you purchase products or services offered by a person with handicaps, you help them support themselves. Why not do both? Check out the pictures and postcards. You might just find the unique gift you've been looking for, for yourself or someone special. And if you do, tell F. Magdalene that "The Cheese" sent you. Not because I get any kind of kickback, but because I like to let my friends know I'm in their corner!
Blessings,
Lily

Cory V. Clark

Cory is a talented fiction writer and poet. His work is dark and brooding but a good heart lies in the shadows of the bleak and horrific worlds he creates. Half of the proceeds from his poetry volume, Reflections of a Dark Soul, benefit "Partners in Progress," a charity helping those who live below poverty level in Pennsylvania. For more information and to purchase a cool present for yourself or the brooding, introspective and generally unconventional types on your gift list, visit Cory's MySpace page here.

Waking Ambrose

Where would I be without Ambrose Bierce? He's one of my major influences. Do yourself a favor: pick up a book that includes his complete stories and poems. Then do yourself a favor and pick up a collection of his journalistic article. Bierce is generally only rememered for "An Ocurrence At Owl Creek Bridge," but he wrote many, many more things that are equally good or even better.
We have asked where I would be without Ambrose Bierce, but now we must ask the question, where would Ambrose Bierce be without Doug Pascover? Doug keeps Bierce's memory alive, and also features his own creativity on his unmatchable blog, Waking Ambrose. So wake yourself to the glory of Ambrose Bierce and Doug Pascover and check it out! Fans of classic curmudgeondom will not be disappointed.

A Cool New Sound

Check out Gothick. You may just want to add them to the soundtrack of your life, or afterlife, or unlife, depending on what exactly you are. They do have CD's available. They are dark without being too gloomy, grungy, and containing elements of the best parts of the Industrial music scene. I particularly liked "Art Is Resistance."
I'm not really much of a critic--I just know what I like. So click the link and feel the difference for yourself.

The Cool and Asinine World of Dusty, Icy and Tom

My friend Tom is a true creative genius. With a sense of humor suited to underground comix and the ability to make fun of absolutely everything, I'd say his off-the-wall work is worth millions. However, things never seem to work that way. The truly talented die broke and the Paris Hiltons of the world worthlessly party on.
Kinda makes me wonder if I should quit trying to promote my book as worthwhile reading. Maybe instead I should focus on publicizing my image, like Paris Hilton. The problem is, I look far more like the Old Witch than the Young Bitch. As to my co-author, I don't think I'd have much luck trying to convince him to switch to a more, say, Justin Timberlake-like image. The resulting videotape would probably have a title like "One Night In Hell with the Old Witch and the Sarcastic Poltergeist."
Forget it. I'll just die broke with my questionable integrity intact. Let Paris keep her image, such as it is. I've really gotten way far off the initial subject. So let me return. Read Tom's blogs. And pray that I never have enough in common with you to ruin your reputation by calling you my friend!

For Real?

Classic Horror

Well, well, well, if this ain't right up my alley! Check out The Horrors of it All. Did you love hiding under the blankets with a flashlight and a classic horror comic when you were a kid and then being scared shitless to even get up and go to the bathroom? I know I did! Remember the Crypt Keeper (before he had a TV show,) the Vault Keeper and the Old Witch? Take a trip down memory lane with these old friends and more!

correction: Karswell doesn't post scans from EC comics, but he has plenty of other great stuff from that genre. Apologies for my mistake. I'm still looking over all the cool stuff he has on his site.

Disembodied

My first find is a story blog by a young Malaysian writer. The protagonist is a frustrated student named Toku who craves some action in his mundane existence and finds it. His life appears to be the same as ever to those around him but the truth is that Toku's reality has changed in exciting and dangerous ways. He seems to be living proof of the warning "be careful what you wish for, you may get it."

About the Co-Op

My idea is to allow writers to have a way to share a sample of their writing with one another and to help promote one another's work. Email me at lilystears@gmail.com and let me know a bit about you, if your work has been published and if so where (so others can purchase your work!) and if you have a blog and/or website. You can also include a piece of work you would like featured, whether it be an impromptu short-short story or an excerpt from a piece published elsewhere, either in print or electronically. The more money and time I have had to spend, the more I treasure the idea of people helping each other. This is the motivation behind forming this co-op. If you have a banner you'd like posted on my main website or on any of my blogs, I'm open to doing banner and link exchanges as well!
Inevitably I have to ask people to adhere to a few rules.
I welcome erotic writing but do not choose to publish pornography on this blog. If you have any explicitly sexual writing you would like to share, I am a co-author of a blog that features adult material.
The rules for showcasing material on either blog are as follows: nothing that promotes hate, sexual brutality, sexual exploitation of children, bestiality, or toilet functions as sexual. The blog admin (that would be me) has the final word and while my word may not be law everywhere, it is law here!
The other rule involves respectful treatment of others. What you may enjoy another may not and vice versa. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism is welcome. Bashing someone else's creation because it does not suit your taste or because you are a troll with nothing better to do than to try and upset people is not and neither will be tolerated.
I'm always glad to get the rules out of the way. Now, let's enjoy one another's writing!
Blessed be,
Lily
